The eyes are a window into the rest of the body.

Beyond eye disease itself, a pet's eyes can reveal other conditions such as diabetes or immune disorders. Many eye patients also have medical or surgical conditions, so our ophthalmology service takes a long-term, systematic approach, with preserving vision for as long as possible as its guiding principle. We identify the cause with accurate diagnosis and treat with precision, and after surgery our veterinarians with doctoral training in ophthalmology also check for related medical and surgical conditions to help preserve your pet's vision and eye health.
  • Detailed eye exams
    and surgery

A slit-lamp biomicroscope for detailed examination, a retinal camera for fundus photography, ocular ultrasound to assess the structure of the eye, and electroretinography to evaluate retinal function let us examine the eye's function and disease precisely, while blood tests and other work-up identify the underlying cause.
  • Comprehensive
    cataract care

Cataract surgery is performed by veterinarians with graduate training in ophthalmology and an experienced surgical team, using micro-incision cataract equipment.
  • Eye care coordinated
    with medicine & surgery

We follow your pet's eye health over the medium and long term. Post-operative checkups help detect complications early. We run initial, medium-term and long-term care programs, and coordinate eye, medical and surgical care for pets with underlying or complex conditions.
  • Focused surgery:
2 operations a day at most

We limit eye surgery to two operations a day to help improve success rates and allow closer care after surgery.

Initial, medium-term and long-term care after surgery

Recovering and maintaining eye health depends on aftercare and medium- to long-term management as much as on surgery. Our ophthalmology team schedules regular checkups after surgery to support recovery and long-term eye health.
