Sterility is the foundation of surgery

Sterility is the most basic requirement of surgery and can affect whether an operation succeeds. It is especially important in orthopedic and oncologic surgery, where implants are often used, so a well-equipped surgical environment and sterilization system matter. Our operating rooms are sterile positive-pressure rooms designed to the standard for operating rooms that treat critically ill human patients — meeting the high-risk operating room criteria set out in Korea's Medical Service Act. A positive-pressure system helps keep bacteria out of the operating room, and an MCU (Medical Clean Unit) system recirculates the internal air 20 times an hour without drawing in outside air. High-performance HEPA filters remove 99.97% of bacteria and fine particles, helping to reduce the risk of infection. The rooms also have dedicated air handling, anti-static ceiling and wall finishes, and sterilization equipment — the basics that support a successful operation.

Ulsan — Operating Room 1

Equipped with a C-arm for real-time fluoroscopy, anesthesia monitoring and an anesthesia ventilator, this room is set up for a wide range of surgical procedures.
  • C-arm (fluoroscopy)

Radiographic imaging that shows the surgical site in real time during the operation

  • Anesthesia monitoring

Heart rate, respiration, oxygen saturation and other vital signs tracked throughout surgery

  • Anesthesia ventilator

Analyzes the patient's breathing to regulate tidal volume and oxygen, with automatic alarms

  • C-arm monitor

    Displays the live fluoroscopy image

Ulsan — Operating Room 2

Our second operating room, set up for endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures.
  • Anesthesia monitoring & ventilator

Tracks heart rate, respiration and oxygen saturation during surgery, analyzes breathing to regulate tidal volume and oxygen, and raises automatic alarms

  • Stryker Endoscope

HD imaging system used for laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, arthroscopy and cystoscopy

  • Endoscopy system

Imaging of the stomach, colon and airways
